The Shift

Paul’s Before & After

Before
Split between a 16-year construction business and a float center. Running crews by day, marketing by night.
After
Shut down the construction business. Went all in on wellness. Taking his first real vacation.
Before
Never run a Facebook ad in his life. Paying an ads manager who was running discounts that devalued the business.
After
Fired the ads manager. Running his own campaigns at 10× ROAS with testimonial-driven creative.
Before
No membership strategy beyond hoping people came back. Revenue growing organically but near its ceiling.
After
Credit-based membership system. Sold two unlimited memberships at $600/month on day one. More members in 6 weeks than all of last year.
Before
Float-only service offering. No expanded modalities or higher-ticket packages.
After
PEMF therapy, Brain Tap, corporate retreats, couples experiences. Built the Ready Room facility upgrade in 2 days.
Before
Doing everything himself. No staff. No systems. Stretched too thin to lead.
After
Fully staffed with people who personally use the services. Rates the business 10 out of 10. “Having the best time of my life.”

Paul — Brainwaves Float Studio Testimonial
“I’m having the best time of my life right now. I’ve got the place fully staffed, I’m going on vacation, finally taking a break, all the goals are being met.”

The Full Story

What Actually Happened

Paul had been running a handyman and construction business for 16 years. On the side, he was building Brainwaves Float Studio in Pennsylvania into something more. The center was growing, but he was stretched between two worlds: running crews and quotes during the day, then trying to market and scale a wellness center at night.

He had no marketing systems. No ad experience. No membership strategy beyond hoping people came back. Revenue was growing organically, about 25% year over year, but he knew the ceiling was close without real structure.

The question wasn’t whether the float center could work. It was whether he could bet on it fully.

Paul joined and started building immediately. Within weeks, he was restructuring his membership model, setting up email marketing integrations, and learning to run his own paid ads for the first time.

The membership restructure was the first major lever. He moved to a credit-based system and sold two unlimited memberships on the first day at $600 per month each. That single change shifted the economics of the business.

Then the ads. Paul had never run a Facebook ad in his life. He built testimonial-driven campaigns, tested holiday packages, and iterated through creative variations. The results came fast: 5× ROAS running ads himself for the first time. Then 10× ROAS as he refined the approach. He gained more members in 6 weeks than in the entire previous year.

He added modalities: PEMF therapy, Brain Tap, and expanded service packages. He hired staff who personally use the services, so every recommendation came from experience. He built corporate retreat packages and couples experiences that drove higher-ticket revenue.

Then he made the decision. He shut down the construction business. Sixteen years of building something, and he walked away from it to go all in on wellness.

Paul didn’t need someone to run his ads for him. He needed someone to show him the levers that actually move a wellness business, and then trust him to pull them.

The membership restructure changed the economics. Running his own ads gave him control over his growth. Firing the ads manager who was running discounts that devalued the business was the hardest call, and the most important one. And shutting down the construction business wasn’t a risk. It was a recognition that the float center had already proven itself.

Paul didn’t just grow his business. He became the owner he needed to be to run it.

“The restructuring of my membership and firing my ads manager to gain control of my marketing were the biggest levers I could pull. I’ve gained more members in the last 6 weeks than all of last year.”
